The Week of December 17, 2012
(in review)

1. Knit a Christmas hat for little Ryder. 

My precious Ryder looks so cute in his handmade Santa hat.

Here he is with Coach (AKA Grandpa) and his personalized bat from the Louisville Bat Museum.  We got it for him when we went to Kentucky this summer.

2. Finish knitting some scarves for Christmas presents. 

I was able to finish seven scarves.  I wanted to finish more but I just ran out of time.  I guess I should have started sooner.  This seems to happen every year.

3. Add 52 hexies to my Bonnie Hunter inspired Christmas Hexagon Quilt.

4. Spend two days with my favorite grandson. 

On Wednesday we spent part of the day playing in the Jumperoo.  

On Saturday we spent the day with family.

5. Piece a backing for the NJ Shop Hop quilt I finished piecing last week.

I found just the right fabric but I did not get a chance to piece the backing.

6. Quilt the Kindred Quilt Shop Saturday Sampler quilt top I finished piecing in May, 2012.

This quilt is loaded but not quilted yet.

7. Continue to work through my Christmas Control Journal.

I got everything done in my Control Journal through December 23rd.

8. Work on Clue #5 of Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt...Easy Street.

Clue #5 is complete.

The Week of December 24, 2012

1.  Work on Clue #6 of the Easy Street Mystery to be released on Friday, December 28, 2012.

We are getting to the end of this mystery (I think.)  I can't wait to see how the quilt turns out.

2.  Complete the two blocks for the PQW Saturday Sampler.

The next class is the weekend of January 12, 2012.  

3.  Add 40 hexies to my Christmas Hexagon quilt.

I am going to start working on the next section of diamonds.  These six sections will take a while.


4.  Continue to work through my Christmas Control Journal.

Today I am going to make the green bean casserole, stuffing, scalloped carrots, chocolate trifle, crab dip, sweet potatoes and stuffed celery.  My plan is to take lots of pictures so I can post these recipes in the near future.

5.  Go out for Christmas Eve Dinner and to 8PM mass.  

We have reservations at K C Prime in Lawrenceville, NJ.  We will attend Christmas Eve Mass at St. David the King RC Church in West Windsor, NJ.

6.  Host a Christmas Day feast for family and friends.

We should have 20-25 people at our Christmas Day celebration.  Unfortunately Kyle, Heather and Ryder will not be here.  It breaks my heart to not be with my first grandchild on his first Christmas.  They will be in my heart all day.  Next year they will spend Christmas Day with us.  I have a wonderful meal planned.  I can't wait!!!

7.  Attend a showing of Les Miserables on Christmas night.  

My Christmas gift to myself is to take my family to a showing of Les Miserables after our Christmas Day celebration.  I can't wait.  We have been listening to the soundtrack of the Broadway show all week instead of Christmas carols.

8.  Finish piecing the backing for the Shop Hop quilt.


9.  Spend a day with little Ryder.

I'm hoping that my DH will be able to join me during my weekly Ryder Time.  He has a basketball game that morning but he hopes to come afterwards.  We only have one car so my beautiful DD, Shea, will drop him off on her way back to Hoboken, NJ.


10.  Post recipes for a lot of the dishes I served on Christmas Day.

I'm hoping, with all the hustle and bustle of the holiday, that I remember to take pictures of all the yummy things I prepare for our celebration. 

11.  Finish the Craftsy Block of the Month quilt top.

If I get sewing time this week, this is the project I want to work on after the mystery clue is done.


Let the festivities begin.
