Show & Tell Tuesday (Patchwork Party & Hexie Sweet Hexie)

Patchwork Party

In 2009, I discovered an event called Patchwork Party.  Twice a year a special fabric line is chosen and 12 different quilt shops across the country design 12 different quilt blocks from that line of fabric.

Each shop also designs a unique finishing kit.  To participate in the event I had to visit each online shop and order the quilt block.  Then I had to visit the finished quilt gallery to choose a finishing kit.

Patchwork Party

I really enjoyed participating in Patchwork Party.  I ran into a bit of a problem when one of the quilt shops sent me the wrong fabric.  I didn't realize this at first because I didn't start working on the blocks immediately.  When I discovered the mistake, (about 9 months later) I contacted the shop.
I was a bit frantic because I didn't think there was any chance this shop still had the fabrics necessary to make the block.  I was very surprised and happy to find out that they did have the fabric, and they promptly sent me everything I needed to complete my block...and eventually the entire quilt.

Hexie Sweet Hexie

Every year in the spring, many quilt shops in the state on New Jersey host a shop hop.  I have participated in the hop a few times.  Participants must travel to various shops throughout the state to collect fabric and patterns.  Prizes are awarded daily, and at the end of the hop.  I actually won a daily prize from one of the shops one year.  Hexie Sweet Hexie is the finished quilt from one of the shops I visited.  Unfortunately, the shop I got the pattern from has since gone out of business.

Hexie Sweet Hexie is available for sale in my
 Etsy Shop:

Awesome Adventures March 2017

Awesome Adventures

The month of March brought the end of our time at The Little Gym with Logan.

I've watched him develop both his gross motor skills and his listening skills.

I'm sad to see this chapter of his young life end, but I guess it is on to bigger and better things :D

Sleepover time!

Ryder visiting the dentist.

Yummy ice cream :D

What big EYES you have little Jace!

...And what tiny feet!

Logan is our super hero...

Even without his crown ...

It didn't take long for this little guy to steal my heart <3.

Movie Night!

Ryder is so proud of his Lego ferry.

One Month Old...where does the time go?

Ryder and Logan made Leprechaun masks during a recent library adventure.

They love all the prizes they won.

Ryder, Logan and Kyle joined Grandad at his baseball team breakfast. They were mesmerized watching the flag team practicing in the commons area.

Jace is learning how to use those things at the end of his arms.

It was a COLD day when the BOYZ visited the Food Truck Festival.
They enjoyed their hot cocoa.

We enjoyed a quick trip to Chuck E. Cheese.

We celebrated three family birthdays during the month of March.

Another trip to the library for Young Scientist Day...

Another month is over and the weather is finally beginning to turn nice here in NJ.  I see many, many playdates at the playground and picnics in our future.

Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching!!!

Make-A-List Monday March/April 2017

I am pleased to announce the opening of my ETSY shop ...

I have decided that is is time to part with some of the quilts I have made over the past ten years.

Please stop by the shop at the link above to see what is available for purchase.  At this time I have 47 quilts listed.  There just might be one you would like to have.

I am continuing with my FlyLady routines and organization.  My latest project was to organize my pantry.

I love the way it turned out.  I found all the bins at Target.

And now, on to my list...

3.  Make a quilt for Logan's Big Boy Bed

I spent a day in Lancaster, PA last week at two different quilt shows.  The AQS show was wonderful.  This is the quilt that won Best of Show:

It was truly an amazing quilt.

While in Lancaster I took a trip to Zook's Fabric Store to get the fabric I will need for Logan's Big Boy Bed quilt.

On the way I went over this quaint covered bridge:

I also made a quick stop at
Kitchen Kettle Village
for some freshly popped Kettle Korn.

At Zook's I was able to find exactly the fabric I was looking for:

Unlike Ryder's quilt, I have decided to use all solids for Logan's quilt.

Now the fun begins!
