The Week of January 28, 2013
(in review)
1. Finish the last 3 blocks of The Village Quilter BOM "Building Blocks."
All blocks are now finished for this quilt. I won't be able to get the finishing kit until the end of the month so I will put this quilt away for a while.
2. Finish the 2012 PQW Saturday Sampler quilt top - Stonehenge colorway and prepare a backing.
This quilt top is complete but I am still working on the backing. I had A LOT of 5 1/2" bonus HST left after piecing the top so I put them together to add to the back. Now I have a strip 20" x 110" that I will off set in the backing. I had to order some more fabric to complete the backing. I hope to finish the preparation this week so it can be added to my Git-R-Done list.
3. Continue working on the 2012 PQW Saturday Sampler quilt top - Stella colorway.
I made some progress on this quilt top but it is not finished yet.
4. Finish piecing the blocks for the 2011 Byrne $5 quilts (repro and batik colorways) and prepare the finishing kits for sewing.
All blocks are complete for both colorways. I did a little work on the Batik finishing kit this week. I did not get to the repro finishing kit..
5. Make 9 blocks for the Dancing Stars Quilt Along sponsored by Amy's Creative Side.
I was able to finish 10 blocks. They are paper pieced. I tried doing these blocks with templates but I was not happy with the way they turned out. Even though paper piecing is slower, the finished blocks were so much better then with templates.
6. Spend 2 days with my DGS Ryder.
My little guy is almost 8 months old.
7. Add 38 hexies to my Bonnie Hunter inspired Christmas Hexagon Quilt.
469 Hexies
I'm going to take a week off from hexies. I've been working so much on this project that I'm not getting a lot else done.
8. Make some progress on my Git-R-Done! list.
I was able to get a little work done on the quilt currently loaded on Annie. Unfortunately I did not finish it. My thread kept shredding...not sure why. I only have a few passes left on the current quilt so I should be able to finish it this week if I can figure out why the thread keeps shredding. I did not add any finishes to the list so I'm still at 15 quilts to be quilted.
9. Work on the PQW June 2011 Stash Club quilt. This quilt is a floating braid pattern.
I did not get to this.
10. Work on the first two blocks of the Skill-Builder BOM sponsored by Alyssa Lichner of Pile 'O Fabric.
I did not get to this either.
Only a so-so list this past week.

I love Bonnie Hunter's hexie quilt but would never undertake such a task for fear I wouldn't finish it (I am a finisher, lol!) but seeing your smaller version grow I am sorely tempted to make one like it. So while Bonnie inspired you, you inspired me! THANKS!
