Show & Tell Tuesday

Show & Tell Tuesday

I have three quilts to share today.

Bali Braid

The original quilt was called French Braid and measured 49" x 58".  I added an inner and outer border so my quilt measures 62" x 74."

It was made from 180 strips measuring 3" x 8 1/2" each.  I used Tonga Batiks by Timeless Treasures.

I made Bali Braid in 2009.   It was designed by Karen Montgomery.

Rolling Waves

Rolling Waves was one of the first quilts I ever quilted on Annie, my long-arm machine.  Like Bali Braid, it is made with Batik fabric on both the front and back.

I quilted it with a simple circular pattern.  I ran in to all kinds of problems because the thread I was using kept breaking.  It was rather thick (30 wt) and I did not have the correct size needle.  Once I found the right size needle the quilting went much more smoothly.

Rolling Waves was also made in 2009.  I don't have much information on the pattern used.  I can't find it anywhere.  I do remember that I made it in a class taught by my friend, Pat O'Brien.  It measures 72" square.

May Rag Quilt

This is the last quilt I have finished in my rag quilt collection.

It was made in 2011.  I hope to start working on the rest of these quilts over the next few months.

Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching!!!

  1. love the quilts!! I've only made one french braid quilt and hated the process... I'm so used to passing 100 little pieces thru the machine, that just doing a few and ironing just seemed SO slow.....
now LOVE the pink wave one, it totally looks like waves...
    and 3rd- I love blues :-)
