Show & Tell Tuesday

Show & Tell Tuesday

I have two quilts to share today.

Kaleidoscope of Kolor

I made Kaleidoscope of Kolor in 2010.  I used a black background and Shadow Play fabrics by Maywood Studios in Jewel tones.

The completed quilt measures 96" x 100".   This pattern is by Thea D. Jirak of Quilting Delights.

Using black as a background color was new to me.  I also used Quilter's Dream black batting.  I am very happy with the finished quilt.

Strawberry Fields

The next quilt I will share is only the second quilt I ever made.  It is a simple 9 patch that measures 37" x 49".  I made this quilt in 2007 right after I made the same quilt in shades of blue.

I chose the colors of burgundy and hunter green to match my family room.

I love to look back at some of these first quilts to see how far I have come and how much I have learned.  I am fortunate to have taken many classes from some wonderful teachers.  I am especially grateful to my first teacher, Pat O'Brien of Pat's Custom Crafts.   Pat was the first teacher to infect me with "Quilt Pox" and I will be forever grateful.

Next week I will share the gift I made for my DMIL for Mother's Day and a few other quilts I've made over the years.

Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching!!!
