Make-A-List Monday

We have had some roller coaster weather here in NJ.  We are just recovering from a large snow storm last week and now there is seriously cold weather predicted for tomorrow.

At least my son, JT, is in warm weather.

He is taking some classes in Australia and New Zealand and this is the beautiful weather he is experiencing.  Lucky Duck!

Just recently I discovered the website

The website author, Jordan Page, has challenged all of her readers to get Focused in '14.

focused in 14 logo

The most recent challenge is to freeze all spending for one week.

At first, this did not seem like a big deal.  I have gone for seven days many times without spending money.  But now that it has been imposed on me, I feel a little panicked.  Sunday was the first day of the spending freeze, so I went grocery shopping and filled the car with gas on Saturday.

I thought all was in order until I realized yesterday that I only have a little laundry detergent left.
Oh well, not a big deal.   I'm sure we have enough clothes to last until next Sunday.

Now, on to my list...

The Week of December 30, 2013
(in review)

1.  Work on the sixth clue for
Celtic Solstice
Bonnie Hunter's new online mystery.

The sixth clue was the final clue for this mystery.  It was posted on January 1st.

As a reminder, this was the picture that Bonnie used for her inspiration for Celtic Solstice:

These are the colors that she suggested we use:

Although we were free to choose any colors, I opted to use the ones that Bonnie suggested.

Here is my completed quilt top:

It measures 77" X 77".

My next step will be to decide on a backing and then it will be added to my Git-R-Done list.

2.  Work on the four pinwheel blocks for Wildflower Rhapsody.

Four more blocks completed.

3.  Participate in a New Year's Day mystery called
An Oldie but Goodie
 sponsored by Merry Mayhem.

This is my New Year's Day quilt top:

I love the way it turned out.  I had a lot of fabric left over so I decided to piece the backing as well:

I am happy to say that this entire quilt was pieced from fabric in my stash.
