An Awesome Adventure...
One of our Christmas presents to our DGS, Ryder, was a promise to take him on one Awesome Adventure each month for the year 2014.
Today my DH and I took little Ryder on our first Awesome Adventure.
This was taken when we arrived at the museum.
Little did we know that we were about to embark on a wonderful day of discovery.
The trolley car was the first activity we found. Ryder loved anything he could "drive."
Next we found this city bus. Ryder loved beeping the horn and turning on all the lights.
Then we discovered the Rubber Ducky river on National Rubber Ducky Day.
Sooooo much fun!
We had lunch by the beautiful carousel. They had a wonderful assortment of healthy food to buy but you could also bring your own food from home.
We did a little bit of each.
The quilter in me could not resist taking photos of the pretty floor in the grand entryway.
Ryder had fun making a beautiful picture in the craft room.
The play ShopRite was AMAZING! We had a blast going around and filling our shopping cart.
The train room and the child sized piano were both a hit.
I think his favorite thing to do was run through these hanging plastic things that I think were supposed to represent water.
I strongly recommend the Please Touch Museum for children 1 to 7 years of age.
Now, on to my list...
The Week of January 6, 2014
(in review)
1. Work on the December block for the PQW Saturday Sampler.
This block was not difficult but it was a bit tricky.
2. Finish the current quilt I am working on for Quilts for Kids.
I finished two Q4K tops.
The pattern is called Little Dominoes.
3. Piece a backing for Celtic Solstice and prepare it for quilting.
I found what I thought was the perfect backing in the sale room at PQW. Unfortunately, when I got home, I discovered it to not be such a perfect match. I decided to piece it with a blue stripe of fabric to try to get it to match better. I am still not happy with this backing. I am considering changing the border on Celtic Solstice to match the backing better. This is still a work in progress.
4. Work on 16 setting rectangles for
