Show & Tell Tuesday

Show & Tell Tuesday

Today I have four quilts to share.  The first two I made in 2008 and the second two I just made in the past few weeks.

After The Sunset

After the Sunset is a pattern by Jessamy Thompson.  It was originally entitled:  Charming Too and it features Hoffman's Watercolor Wraps fabric.  It was one of the first quilts I made in 2008.

The pattern came from a free download from Hoffman Fabrics.  It measures 40" square.

Dancing on Ice

This quilt was originally entitled:  Simply Charming and it is also designed by Jessamy Thompson..  The Hoffman Watercolor Wraps used in Dancing on Ice is a much cooler palette than the one used in After the Sunset.

This pattern was also a free download from Hoffman Fabrics and it measures 40" square as well.

The next two quilts were presented to my friend, Megan, at her baby shower this weekend.

Disappearing 9 Patch for Avery

When I found out that Megan was having a little girl I immediately thought of the colors of pink and green.  I began gathering my fabric and started working on this pretty Disappearing 9 Patch.
As a supplement to the quilt I decided to go on her baby gift registry to find a little extra something.  This is when I discovered her nursery colors to be yellow and gray...not pink!

Back to the design board!!

Recess For Avery

Recess for Avery is a quilt designed by Debbie Maddy.  The original quilt calls for using one turnover but I chose to use fat quarters.

The original quilt measured 52" x 52" and called for only a plain border.  I decided to add the pieced border to give it a little extra punch.  The result is a quilt the measures closer to 65" X 65".

A little large for a baby quilt but it is
one that she can grow into.

I wish Megan, Mike and little baby Avery much happiness!!!

Until Next Time.....Happy Stitching!!!

  2. hi, I've stopped by after looking at your gorgeous garden delight quilt on quilting gallery's weekly contest which you've submitted a few weeks ago.

I've enjoyed reading your blog and love how the quilt square quilt along blocks are progressing.

Love looking at all the beautiful quilts you've made recently and over the past few years, and i'm looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing!

  3. They are all beautiful quilts. Your disappearing 9 Patch came out so much better than mine. You can really see the blocks whereas mine seem to blend into each other. I really love the Recess for Avery quilt, very pretty.
