Make-A-List Monday

The Week of September 9, 2013
(in review)

This was a wonderful, but very busy week.  I was able to spend lots of time with family which always makes me happy.  I didn't get a lot of quilting time but that's okay.  I'll take family time over quilting time any day.

Most of last week's list will be carried over to this week but I did manage to work on a few things....

1.  Work on Lesson 12 for the Aiming for Accuracy Quilt-Along sponsored by The Quilting Gallery.

I did not get to lesson 12 last week.  I will try to do lesson 12 and 13 this week.

2.  Spend four (yes, I said four!) days with my sweet Ryder.  I am definitely a lucky Grammy!

Lunch is yummy!  Thanks, Grammy.

3.  Attend the Quilts for Kids workshop at Pennington Quilt Works.

I turned in the three quilts I made this past month and I started working on three more.

4.  Work on the following BRODY Projects:

Lazy Sunday
Blue Dresden Plate Quilt
*Log Cabin Christmas Quilt
*Six Little Charmer II Table Runners
*Christmas Charm Tree Skirt
Four Across Hearts Table Runner
Four-Patch Stacked Posies...Small Print
Four-Patch Stacked Posies...Large Print
Slice Twice - Isn't That Nice

I was able to work on three BRODY Projects this week.

The Christmas Charm Tree Skirt is basically done but I need to make a backing and binding.

I finished the Log Cabin Christmas Quilt.

The pattern did not call for an outer border but I think it needed one to frame the tree.

Here it is with a 4 1/2" border of swirly red fabric.  I like it much better now.

I also finished the last two Little Charmer II table runners.

Here are all six table runners.  I used some Thimbleberries charm packs that I had gotten a while ago and some unbleached muslin for the background.
I was able to use every charm but two.

I love the way they turned out.
I already have some of them planned for gifts.

5.  Work on the quilt currently loaded on Annie - June 2011 Stash Club 1930's Braid

I was only able to work a few hours on this quilt.  I hope to continue to make progress this week.

6.  Begin working on the center medallion for the Pieceful Nights Quilt Along sponsored by Jo Kramer of Jo's Country Junction.

I did not get to work on this.

7.   Start to work on two watermelon quilts made from fabric I gathered on a trip to Phoenix and San Diego two summers ago.

I made a little progress on one of the quilts.

Here are four of the 56 blocks I made.  I am considering appliqueing black "watermelon seeds" on the red log cabins to make them look more like slices of watermelon.

I didn't do any work on the second watermelon quilt.

8.  Add some more hexies to my Bonnie Hunter inspired
 Christmas Hexie Quilt.

I worked on a few hexies during one of Ryder's naps but I still have not finished a section.

9.  Organize all the pictures from my lost blog page -
 My Christmas Hexie Journey
and start to reproduce the page.

I was able to find quite a few of the pictures and I started to reproduce the page but it is not done.

10.  Plan, shop for, cook and host an End-of-Summer BBQ.

We had a wonderful End-of-Summer BBQ.  The food was delicious, if I do say so myself, and the company was even better.

11.  Go to Six Flags Great Adventure with my DH,
my DDIL and my DGS, Ryder.

It was a beautiful day on Saturday for our Six Flags Great Adventure trip.  There were not a lot of rides that Ryder could do but the number of rides equaled his energy level.  Here are a few pictures from our day.

Thanks for a wonderful day, Heather!

12.  Bind the PQW 2011 Saturday Sampler, Stella Colorway that I just finished quilting.

This quilt is not bound yet but I was able to trim it.  I should be able to get to it this week.
