I am the wife of a wonderful husband and the mom of three super adult kids and their spouses. I also proudly have five adorable grandsons. I happily taught preschool for 25 years. When I'm not with my grandsons I spend much of my time indulging in my "Quilty Pleasures."
This mystery was presented in 2013 and I finished it in 2014. My completed quilt measures 93" x 93".
Crazy Eights
Crazy Eights is a pattern that uses eight fat quarters. A fat quarter is a piece of fabric ~18" x 20". The pattern can be found on the Bits 'n Pieces website.
The pattern was designed in 2001 by Julia H. Hale.
I was lucky enough to be able to find this coordinating 1 1/2 yard piece of fabric for the back.
My finished Crazy Eights quilt measures 38" x 45" and it was completed in 2013.
It's so much fun to reminisce about all the things the boys have done over the past few weeks. They manage to squeeze so much into a month!
Let's see what they have been up to...
March started very sadly for one of my special grandsons. Logan's "best buddy," Sebi was switched to a different class.
Here they are in happier times. :(
Logan was heartbroken. We decided to have a special one-on-one sleepover to help him feel better.
We started our sleepover by making dinner.
Logan breading the chicken for baking
Then we made dessert...
Yummy funnel cakes!!
We moved logan's mattress into Mimi and Grandad's room for our special sleepover.
Logan loves to sleep with his little Brody.
When we awoke the next morning it was FREEZING outside. We decided to help Mother Nature along a little bit by collecting all of our winter decorations to put away.
Please hurry up, spring!
Logan thought it was a good day to paint at the easel.
A beautiful masterpiece!
"Isn't it impressive, Mimi?"
"You bet it is, Logan!"
Your piano playing is impressive as well, Logan. :)
While we were having our one-on-one sleepover at Mimi's house, Ryder was at school and Jace was home playing with Mommy.
Piano playing helped Logan work up an appetite so off to Chuck E. Cheese we went.
Jurassic Park
Ride 'Em Cowboy
Whack the Bad Guys
We had a wonderful time and Logan was back home in time for nap - VERY tired!
By the looks of Logan at school in the days after Sebi changed classes...
I think he has moved on.
Meanwhile, Jace and Ryder also had a busy March. They are always able to find activities to hold their interest.
A trip to visit G.G. and PopPop show how big the boys are growing. They will be bigger than G.G. before we know it!
As usual, we like to go to the local library programs whenever we can.
One local library has a great bridge that we like to cross.
OUTSIDE play is always a must, weather permitting.
Let's Go Fly a Kite!
St. Patrick's Day was so much FUN!
Looking for leprechauns!
Jace loves to go to My Gym.
Ryder reading to Jace.
One day we had fun making "bananoids."
Yummy!
Logan!!!
More Library time...
The boys like to go to the "Dinosaur Playground" whenever we get the chance.
Having fun at Mimi's house
Whenever the boys come to my house they can't get enough Brody Time.
Jace enjoying music class.
Logan's school celebrates Purim each year by the children dressing in costume and having a parade.
We were very fortunate to attend a Jumpin' Jamie concert this month.
Then we went for a picnic - even if it was only 50 degrees!
We have a hill at our community park that the boys love to climb...
And roll down.
Just some random pictures...
Just like Grandad
A chalk masterpiece
A future pirate
Ryder's Superhero Day at school.
The month ended with a trip to an ice hockey game...
