Make-A-List Monday

Finally a few minutes to write a blog post.  I'm not complaining because I like to be busy.  But a little "down-time" would be nice once in a while.

We just returned home from a quick long-weekend trip to Chicago and Indianapolis.  My best friend's son was married this past Saturday and we were privileged to be able to attend the celebration.

We started our adventure in Chicago by visiting Millennium Park and snapping a selfie in front of the Cloud Gate Sculpture.  We enjoyed a wonderful art museum and a classical music concert by a string orchestra.

Our next stop in Chicago was
Wrigley Field where the
 Chicago Cubs play.

I know...another annoying selfie.

We watched the Cubbies defeat the Washington Nationals.

On Saturday morning we traveled to Indianapolis for the wedding.  The ceremony and reception were all held in the beautiful
Scottish Rite Cathedral.

Okay,  this is the last selfie...I promise.

On Sunday we attended a lovely luncheon at my friend's home just outside of Indianapolis.  We had a wonderful time but it is always so nice to get back home.

June was definitely a busy month but I was able to make a bit of progress on my LIST.

He loved his Mickey Mouse birthday cake that his mom. Heather made for him.

He loved his presents, especially the Roller Coaster we gave to him.

We also had a great library visit.

Make-A-List Monday

As usual, it has been a very busy few weeks.

I'm always sad when I have multiple days that I cannot get into my studio.  Fortunately, the reason I haven't been able to sew is that I have been spending a lot of time with family and friends.  Quilting always takes a backseat to family/friend time!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day celebration at Kyle and Heather's house.  My contribution to the meal was a few salads and this rather healthy dessert.  I found the idea on Pinterest.  It was so easy to make.

 The highlight of the past
few weeks has been the Gradu-Birthday celebration of my son JT's girlfriend from medical school.

This is the happy graduate and my son at a celebratory dinner dance before the ceremony.

It was wonderful to meet all of her family visiting from California.

Here they are on graduation day.

Congratulations Dr. Kaela!

The celebrating continues as today is her birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My Gradu-Birthday gift was a quilt I
made called "Teal & White Delight."

Teal is Kaela's favorite color.

You've worked so hard, Kaela.  You should be very proud of your accomplishments.  Good luck with your residency and in all your future endeavors.
