It is amazing how quickly the month of July has gone by.
We've been blessed to be able to celebrate family birthdays, awesome adventures and mini vacations.
July 2014
(in review)
1. Spend quality time with my favorite grandsons.
This is a picture of my wonderful son, Kyle reading to his two sons.
Ryder and Logan (with help from their mom :) sent us this lovely picture for our 33rd wedding anniversary.
We took Ryder on the first of two Awesome Adventures to The Garden State Discovery Museum.

2. Finish Logan's quilt - Jungle Safari - and present it to him.
3. Choose a pattern for a commission quilt.
I have been unable to find just the right pattern for this quilt but I will continue to search.
4. Participate in Merry Mayhem's One Day Mystery - We Salute You!
The fabric requirements for this mystery quilt were very strict and I was unable to find fabric that followed the provided guidelines. I decided to just print out all the clues and I will make the quilt at a later date.

5. Work on lessons 18 through 23 of
sponsored by The Quilting Gallery.
I printed out the lessons for this quilt but I did not work on them. Working on this quilt requires bringing out a lot of different fabrics so I have decided to wait until the last few lessons are published so that I can work on it all at once.
6. Work on seven 9-patch star blocks for the McCall's Make It Your Way quilt-along.
Here is one of the seven blocks I completed.
7. Work on the final clue for the

Tell It to the Stars quilt-along block sponsored by Judy Laquidara in two colorways.
13. Bind and label three quilts I recently finished quilting on Annie:
Syncopated Rhythm
String of Pearls
Jelly Beans
All three quilts have been bound and labeled. They have been added to the large pile of quilts that need their bindings hand tacked. I also finished the label and binding on Keep It Simple.
14. Complete quilting the quilt currently loaded on Annie: Keep It Simple and any other quilts currently on my Git-R-Done List.
15. Work on the last twelve blocks for my teal batik Kwik Krazy Quilt.
16. Work on some Dancing Stars blocks.
17. Start working on an Advent calendar for Ryder and his new baby brother, Logan.
I purchased an embroidery computer program to make this project a little better. When I finally figured out how the program worked I realized that I needed to purchase some red fabric. I have decided to make three of these calendars as I figure it will be easier to make three now then to try to duplicate it when my other two children have children of their own. I was able to purchase the red fabric in Hershey at Quilt Odyssey so I will hopefully be able to work on them in August.
18. Work on a few Skill Builder blocks.
When I pulled out this project to work on it I realized that I had already completed twelve blocks. I looked at the patterns for the last eight blocks and I realized that they all looked rather difficult. For this reason I decided to just start to put the twelve blocks together as a completed quilt. I have made a little progress on this quilt but it is not done as I write this post. Hopefully I will finish it in August.
19. Make two baby quilts for two friends who just had baby girls.

I just finished the eleventh of the twelve blocks for this quilt. The last block is paper-pieced and I should finish it in August.

31. Attend Quilt Odyssey in Hershey, PA.
I took advantage of the location of Quilt Odyssey to turn this trip into an Awesome Adventure with little Ryder.
We stayed at the beautiful Hershey Lodge. Don took little Ryder to Hershey park on Thursday while I attended the quilt show. On Friday we all went together. Here are a few pictures from this very Awesome Adventure:
