Make-A-List Monday

WOW!  This has been a very busy two weeks.

And life is only going to get crazier.  Over the next few weeks we will celebrate the birth of our second grandson and two graduations.

Ryder received his new quilt for his big boy bed.

He really seems to like it.  That makes me so happy!

The Weeks of April 14 - 27, 2014

1.  Start working on two pillow shams to match Ryder's quilt.

When I started to work on these pillow shams I realized I did not have enough of the fabric I needed.

We did a lot of cutting and kit preparation in this session.

  19.  Celebrate both of my wonderful son's birthdays and Easter.

Here are a few pictures from these celebrations:

Easter and JT's birthday

Easter and Kyle's Birthday

This past weekend my oldest son, Kyle, ran in his second half marathon, the RunAPalooza in
 Asbury Park, NJ.

He enjoyed the beautiful day running and Ryder enjoyed the beautiful day on the beach.

20.  Spend a few days with my grandson, Ryder.

It was wonderful to be able to spend so much time with Ryder this past week.

We had an Awesome Adventure at the playground and The Rainforest Cafe before we went home to celebrate Daddy's birthday.

Our Easter Egg hunt was a lot of fun!

On another day Ryder helped his granddad mow the grass.

Don't worry...Ryder never got near the lawn
mower while it was running.

Yesterday we went to Communiversity in Princeton.

We took the "Dinky" train...a five minute ride from the Princeton Jct. train station to the Princeton University campus

"I've got my ticket and I'm ready to ride!"

Ryder loved watching all the people and listening to the great music.  There was so much to see and do.  We walked around for a while and then headed home for a yummy pizza dinner.

Make-A-List Monday

The Week of April 7, 2014
(in review)

1.  Finish hand tacking the binding on
Ryder's Big Boy Bed quilt.

Ryder's quilt is finished and it has been delivered.

I am very happy with the way it turned out.  His furniture should be delivered any day and then he will be able to sleep under it for the very first time.

I think I am more excited then he is.

2.  Work on a few blocks for the
Layer Cake Sampler quilt-along sponsored by Material Girls Quilts.

Here are a few more of the blocks I am making for this quilt:

3.  Work on the March block for the PQW Saturday Sampler.

The directions for this block called for paper-piecing but I decided to use my Deb Tucker Spotlight specialty ruler.  I am pleased with the results.

4.  Work on the ninth and tenth lessons for
The Quilting Gallery.

5.  Prepare a backing for the Four-Patch Stacked Posies quilt top that I recently finished piecing.

The backing has been prepared and this quilt has been added to the Git-R-Done! list.

6.  Bind the "2013 NJ Shop Hop Quilt" that I recently finished quilting.

I have attached this quilt binding by machine and it is ready to be hand tacked.

Here are four of the sixty blocks I have finished so far:

I have 24 more blocks to make.

8.  Work on some of the McCall's
Make It Your Way quilt along blocks.

I attended the Saturday Sampler class this past weekend.  This was the last class until the fall when we will start a new quilt.

20.  Spend a few days with my grandson, Ryder.

We had a lot of fun at library class.  Ryder listened attentively to the librarian as she read a story about butterflies.  Then he made a great hand print butterfly.

He especially loved music time and making new friends.

After library class we went to the park to play on the playground and see the animals.  His favorite animals are the pigs and the peacocks.

We were so lucky to see one of the peacocks strut his stuff!
